SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION AT UNIVERSIDAD DEL PACÍFICO: EVOLUTION OF PUBLICATIONS AND INDEXING IN SCIENTIFIC DATABASES (2023–2025)
Abstract
Scientific production is a key indicator for assessing the research capacity and visibility of higher education institutions. The aim of this study was to analyze the scientific production of Universidad del Pacífico through the evolution of its publications and their indexing in scientific databases during the period 2023–2025. A descriptive, documentary, and retrospective study with a quantitative approach was conducted using the institutional scientific production database as the primary source of information. The variables analyzed included year of publication, academic area, article type, indexing databases, and journal quartile when applicable. A total of 165 scientific publications were identified during the study period, with a predominance of original articles and an increasing presence in journals indexed in Latindex, SciELO, Scopus, Web of Science, and DOAJ, including publications in journals classified in the Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 quartiles. The findings demonstrate the strengthening of the University's scientific production and the increased visibility of its publications, providing evidence to support the evaluation and continuous improvement of institutional research policies.
