Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)

The use of AI is permitted solely to improve the grammar and style of the manuscript, under human supervision. It must not be used to generate scientific or clinical content. Authors are responsible for the final content.

It is mandatory to include a declaration on the use of AI in the cover letter and in the manuscript, before the References section. It is not necessary to declare basic spell-checking or reference management tools. Failure to comply with this policy will be considered an ethical violation and will be handled in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

In the peer review process, if a reviewer incorporates AI as a support tool for their evaluation, they must inform the editorial team, indicating at least the name of the model, the version, and the date of use. Responsibility for the judgment issued to recommend, or not, the publication of a manuscript as well as for any proposed corrections or improvements remains exclusively with the reviewer; interaction with AI does not replace their expert judgment or accountability.
